Prostate Cancer Awareness Month

Urologists Michael Finger MD and Stylianos Sideris MD will be hosting separate free prostate cancer screenings during the month of September to promote Prostate Cancer Awareness. Dr. Finger with Urology Associates of South Texas will host free prostate cancer screenings on Saturday, September 8 between 8:30am and 12:30pm at his Weslaco office on 910 E. 8th Street, Suite 9. If you are 45 or older and interested in the free screening, call Dr. Finger's office at 686-8357 to make an appointment. Dr. Sideris will offer free PSA blood tests to detect prostate cancer in asymptomatic persons and free prostate screening tests on Friday, September 21. Contact his office at 447-3800 for more information. Prostate Cancer is a disease that usually affects men older than 40. In fact, one out of every six men will develop prostate cancer during his lifetime. Prostate exams and PSA blood tests are recommended annually for men over the age of 50, or for younger men with a family history of prostate cancer. Both Dr. Finger and Dr. Sideris are independent professional practitioners who are members of the Knapp Medical Center Active Medical Staff.
