Knapp Signs Contract with InterAmerica Wound CentersA contract has been signed between Knapp Medical Center and InterAmerica Wound Centers L.P. to provide management and support services for the Knapp Medical Center Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Department. Wound care will continue as is until two, new monoplace hyperbaric chambers are installed. InterAmerica will begin managing the department about September 1, 2008, and will work with the Medical Staff to secure one or more Medical Directors for the Knapp Wound Center.
InterAmerica Wound Centers, a Texas Limited Partnership headquartered in San Antonio, began operations in August 2000 and currently operates seven wound care centers in Texas, Arizona, and Georgia. The other Texas centers are located in San Antonio and Port Arthur.
David A. Perez is co-founder and president of InterAmerica Healthcare Group, the general partner for InterAmerica Wound Centers. Previous to starting InterAmerica in September of 2000, David was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Renal Care Group’s Wound Care Division from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, David managed 14 hospital-based wound care programs from 1995 to 1999 with a previous company, which he co-founded.
George Peter Dingeldein M.D. has served as InterAmerica’s Corporate Medical Director since September 2000. Dr. Dingeldein received his M.D. degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, New York in 1970. He did his burn fellowship at the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, North Carolina Memorial Hospital with the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He is currently in private practice in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery/Surgery of the Hand in Texarkana, Texas.
