School Safety Tips- According to the CDC, pedestrian injury is the second leading cause of injury-related death in the United States in children aged 5-15.
- With Valley children heading back to their classrooms next week, here a few tips to provide a safe school season:
- Slow down in school or residential areas
- Look for cues that children may be in the area such as bicycles, crossing guards, and playground equipment
- Scan between parked cars and other objects as children may dart out from behind them
- Don't rush to work or school, leave early
- Drive with your headlights on, even in the daytime, so children and other motorist may see you better.
