The CME Coordinator / Educator, under the direction and supervision of the Director of the Department of Education, works ultimately to promote hospital clients satisfaction by stimulating professional growth primarily, among members of the Medical Staff Services and secondarily among Nursing, Clinical and the Support/ Ancillary Staff. He/she performs assessment of their educational needs, coordinates the development and offers a structured, goal-oriented educational intervention based primarily on identified needs. Director of Case ManagementMore Details
•The Director of Case Management directs the activities of Case Managers, Social Workers as well as ancillary staff in coordinating health care planning, facilitation and evaluation of selected interventions across the continuum of care. Serves as a resource person to ensure medically appropriate, cost effective care. Actively participates in hospital performance improvement functions, particularly in the development and analysis of Clinical Pathways. Leads and participates in hospital committees designed to improve the quality of patient care, collecting and analyzing of data to identify patterns of care, resource utilization or other areas where process improvement actions can positively impact quality of care, cost, resource utilization and length of stay.

Under the general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer/Assistant Director of Nurses, the Unit Director directs and coordinates goal-oriented patient care activities, nursing duties and unit activities for one/two nursing unit and is responsible for qualified staff coverage on a 24 hour basis. He/she coordinates nursing activities with those of other hospital disciplines. The Unit Director schedules, evaluates, and supervises personnel within his/her department and/or departments. He/she is responsible for planning and recommending a budget for the nursing unit, and the relationship and coordination of his/her department/departments with other hospital departments. The employee in this position will be required to demonstrate competencies in the care and/or services to our patients, based on unit specific-age group criteria.

The Staff Pharmacist functions under the general supervision of the director of pharmacy. The staff pharmacist performs duties, maintains professional standards in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, codes and standards maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care and assures smooth operation of the pharmacy department. A staff pharmacist may, in the absence of the director of pharmacy, be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the director of pharmacy.

The Radiology Nurse is an integral part of the radiology team. The major goal of the Radiology Nurse is to provide quality nursing to both in and outpatients in the Department of Radiology. The Radiology Nurse cares for the pediatric, adult, elderly, acutely il, or chronically ill patient. The Radiology Nurse should be qualified and prepared to handle all unexpected emergencies that occur during any radiological procedure. The Radiology Nurse must be attuned to the diverse needs of the community such as language, ethnic, religious, and sexual differences. The Radiology Nurse must be familiar with the patient’s bill of rights and seek assistance from other resources when needed to ensure individualized care. Skills utilized in his/her job performance include assessment, communication, teaching, leadership, and management. This individual ensures patient privacy, dignity and safety. Areas where the nurse may function are: general diagnostic, special procedures, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, cardiac catherization, ultrasound, computerized tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and mammography. The Diabetes Center Diabetes Nurse Educator’s duties and responsibilities primarily involve assessing diabetes program participants to determine their educational needs, provide diabetes self-management education and training, developing educational materials, collaborating with the Center’s staff in the presentation, evaluation and revision of the curriculum, and assisting the director in marketing and promoting efforts. This individual serves as a resource person and role model, and facilitates professional growth in self and others.
