Wish Away Breast Cancer 2008

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Knapp Medical Center hosted an event to Wish Away Breast Cancer on Thursday, October 2, 2008. The free event was an opportunity for the community to participate in a mini health fair to learn about early detection of breast cancer and screening opportunities. Individuals were given the opportunity to walk the pink ribbon, make a wish at the wishing well to banish breast cancer and decorate pink ribbons in memory or honor of a loved one. Dr. Michael DeCandia, Chief of Radiology at Knapp Medical Center, kicked off the event. Dr. Rodolfo Guerrero, General Surgeon at Knapp Medical Center, was the presenter for the Valley Health Seminar that evening and spoke about getting the facts needed now about breast cancer.
