Your Patient Bill

Knapp Medical Center routinely files all necessary hospital claims to insurance companies for reimbursement. The patient is ultimately responsible for payment of the bill. It is very important that KMC be given all the information regarding your insurance as soon as possible so our Business Office can verify that it is in effect and determine what coverage you have.

We know that hospital bills are sometimes difficult to understand. Your statement will include services provided to you by Knapp Medical Center. The services you received from:

• Your doctor
• Surgeon
• Anesthesiologist
• Pathologist
• Radiologist or
• Any other consulting doctor will be billed by their respective offices.

Feel free to call or come by the KMC Business office to have your account explained to you in terms you can understand.

Remember though, most insurance plans do not cover 100% of your hospital stay. You may pay your portion of the bill after your insurance pays, or within 30 days of discharge, whichever comes first.

If you are unable to pay the balance in full, you may make arrangements for installment payments by contacting our Business Office at 956-969-5140, Monday to Friday.
