Imaging Services Available

64 Slice CT Scan

The 64-slice CT scanner is Knapp’s latest diagnostic tool. This state-of-the-art machine covers more anatomy, with greater accuracy, than before. The superior image clarity offers a faster, more accurate diagnosis for earlier detection of abnormal changes in the body. This technology allows for expanded services such as precise cardiac imaging, virtual colonoscopies, and updated treatments for cancer patients

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

An MRI is a noninvasive, painless procedure in which radio waves and powerful magnets linked to a computer, can create detailed pictures of internal organs and tissues. These pictures can help diagnose many conditions in all parts of the body.

Echocardiography

Also known as a cardiac ultrasound, echocardiography employs real-time imaging for a quick and accurate assessment of the overall health of the heart.

Digital Mammogram

Knapp’s advanced digital mammography unit allows for a more accurate diagnosis in half the time of film-based exams. With higher-resolution images and computer-aided detection (CAD), the need for additional pictures is reduced.

Stereotactic Breast Core Biopsies

This procedure is a safe and minimally invasive way to obtain tiny samples from an abnormal breast mass for examination by a pathologist. A sample of suspect breast tissue is precisely located with a computer-guided imaging system and removed with a needle. The procedure is completed on an outpatient basis with a minimum of discomfort and recovery time.

DEXA (Osteoporosis Screening)

This enhanced form of x-ray technology is a quick and painless way to measure bone loss, estimate the risk of future fractures and accurately diagnose osteoporosis.

Digital Radiography

Our diagnostic x-ray department utilizes digital technology for routine x-ray procedures of the spine, abdomen, chest, pelvis, and extremities.

Interventional Angiogram

This x-ray exam of the arteries and veins can diagnose blockages, narrowing in a blood vessel, and other blood vessel problems. In many cases, our radiologist can treat a blocked vessel or place a stent without the need for surgery.

3-D Ultrasound/Vascular Imaging

Ultrasound imaging is a painless procedure that uses high frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of tissues, organs, blood vessels and blood flow. Common uses include obstetric, vascular, and abdominal.

Nuclear Medicine/Stress Testing

This test involves the injection of a radioactive ‘tracer’ that allows for the evaluation of organ function and bone abnormalities.

Radiofrequency Ablation

This non-invasive procedure uses mild, painless radiofrequency waves to locally heat tumors to kill cancer cells for liver, lung, bone, and kidney cancer. It is also an adjunct therapy for patients on chemotherapy.
